Dr. Dan Evans, Principal & Managing Director
- Dr. Evans is a seasoned advisor who helps clients navigate the complex and evolving security, threat, and risk landscape. He has assisted clients in the public and private sectors; his work in the commercial sectors includes technology, media, and telecom (TMT), Life Sciences & Health Care (LSHC), Power and Utilities (P&U), Oil and Gas, Manufacturing, and Property Management. His work in the public sector includes the Intelligence Community (IC), National Security (Nat Sec), the Department of Defense (DoD), and State, Local, and Higher Education (SLED).
- He is a leader in the Security Risk Management space. He is experienced in physical security, counterterrorism, crisis management, safety, and training. He is a former police officer and has served in the U.S. Army and Army National Guard for over 20 years. He has conducted numerous security assessments domestically and internationally. He has designed, developed, and facilitated numerous tabletop and full-scale exercises. He is a former consulting manager at EY and an Advisory Manager at Deloitte, working in the security, risk, crisis, and resilience space.

Carl Herron, Managing Partner
- Carl has over 30 years of professional experience in Law Enforcement, physical security, crisis management, special events, and the utilities industry’s Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP). Carl has conducted numerous physical security assessments domestically and internationally across various industries, including healthcare and research institutions. After retiring from the FBI, Carl worked as the Security Manager for the Georgia Dome, later the Principal Critical Infrastructure Physical Security Advisor for the North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC), and as an Advisory Manager for EY.
- He served as an FBI Field Supervisor with overall responsibility for crisis management and the logistical and technical support necessary to facilitate the FBI Atlanta’s rapid response to and management of critical incidents. He was a CNN contributor for counterterrorism and major events security from 2012 to 2016.
- He managed strategic planning and execution, as well as logistical support. He provided operational oversight of all FBI resources deployed to major domestic and international special events (1996 Atlanta Olympics, Winter Olympics Turin, Italy, Pan American Games DR, G-8 Summit Sea Island, Georgia 2004), including budget and training. One of the Counterterrorism Division’s Crisis Management Coordinators provides training, establishes command posts, and participates in Tabletop Exercises, Command Post Exercises, and Full-Scale Exercises. - Responsible for coordination and planning with the United States Government (USG) agencies and the United Kingdom (UK) for security, crisis management, and counterterrorism during the 2012 London Olympics. Also responsible for the development and execution of the FBI’s Operational Plan and Continuity of Operations Plan of personnel and equipment in support of the USG and UK operations upon request.

Ron Mann, Partner
- Ron has dedicated his life to service in security and investigations. His diverse background combines discipline, experience, and tenacity, enabling him to tackle even the most challenging problems. He has a rich history of military service, law enforcement, and corporate security.
- Ron began his career as a Criminal Investigator for the United States Army Criminal Investigations Division, investigating crimes against the Army and its personnel. His responsibilities included conducting threat assessments and security reviews, investigating employee theft, and addressing worker’s compensation fraud. He expertly conducted interviews and interrogations and compiled detailed reports documenting his efforts and progress.
- Afterward, he became a Louisiana State Trooper, attending a nationally certified and federally recognized academy. In this role, his duties included investigating crimes and traffic accidents, interviewing subjects and witnesses, and ensuring the safety and security of crime and crash scenes. He enforced state and federal laws, provided education, and delivered essential public safety services in all weather conditions. His court reports were consistently clear and concise.
- Ron is also the visionary founder of a licensed private investigation firm in North and South Carolina. He also served as the co-owner of a reputable security officer firm, where he played a crucial role in ensuring the safety and security of clients throughout the region.
